About us

Hort@ provides highly-specialised services to the agricultural and agri-industrial sectors to increase their competitivity and sustainability, while guaranteeing and enhancing food safety.

We currently apply the results of research in the agri-food sector by:

developing Decision Support Systems (DSSs) for managing crops sustainably using Information & Communication Technologies (ICTs)
transferring technological innovations to national and international production systems, for intensive and extensive farming, agro-energy crops, quality brands, and agri-food production chains, with particular attention to productivity, environmental sustainability and food safety
designing, developing and creating new production pathways and new products/techniques to place on the market

A bit of history

Hort @, was born in 2008 as a spin off of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore. It was started by five founding members (Vittorio Rossi and Tito Caffi, professors at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Pierluigi Meriggi and Simona Giosuè) whose goal is to translate innovative research results into agricultural practices.
